These Green Bay parks will soon have free internet access
GREEN BAY PRESS GAZETTE 

GREEN BAY - The City Council approved roughly $253,000 in federal coronavirus relief funds Tuesday night to essentially turn four public parks into giant "hotspots" through the installation of wireless internet service.

People will soon be able to access free, high-speed internet at the following locations: Seymour Park on Ashland Avenue, Eastman Park in the Olde North neighborhood, Navarino Park on South Jackson Street and St. John Park in the Downtown Green Bay neighborhood....

TDS to build fiber networks in three Green Bay area communities

GREEN BAY– TDS Telecommunications announced plans to build fiber networks in three Green Bay metro area communities that will connect around 19,000 addresses.

According to officials, TDS will build the fiber-to-the-home networks in Suamico, Howard and Hobart. Construction will reportedly start this fall and services will become available in phases.

Green Bay Austin Straubel unveils electric vehicle charging station

ASHWAUBENON -- Green Bay's airport is embracing new green energy.

Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport unveiled its new electric vehicle charging station in its short-term parking lot Wednesday.

The system was designed and installed by EnTech Solutions. It's powered by solar arrays with the support from the electric grid if needed.

The charger can generate up to 21,630 kilowatt hours of solar energy annually, which is enough to provide around 300 electric vehicles charges per year....

Ripon College raises over $16 million, highest fundraising year in school history

RIPON – Ripon College achieved a record-breaking year when it came to fundraising.

According to Ripon College, the 2021 fiscal year (which ended on June 30) was its largest fundraising year in the school’s history. Over $16.5 million in new gift production was realized, per Ripon College.

GREEN BAY -- Eighteen small businesses in Wisconsin are being recognized with grants, including three in our area.

Associated Bank and the Brewers Community Foundation announced a $100,000 program to support minority, women and veteran-owned businesses through the Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC).

Eighteen small businesses throughout the state, including three in the Green Bay and Appleton areas, are receiving $5,000 grants through the program, and additional funds are going directly to support WWBIC’s work in the state....
