NVCA president and CEO Franklin will open Wisconsin Early Stage Symposium Nov. 9
WISCONSIN TECHNOLOGY COUNCIL 

MADISON -- Bobby Franklin, president and chief executive officer of the National Venture Capital Association, will open the Wisconsin Early Stage Symposium on the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 9, in Madison.

Franklin leads the NCVA’s efforts to promote entrepreneurism and early stage investment, producing research reports, model documents, surveys and other tools to help hundreds of members and associates. He will talk about the state of the venture industry and how those market- and policy-based trends affect Wisconsin and the Midwest....

APPLETON - West College Avenue just got a little wilder.

Wild Habitats, a pet store for lizards, fish and reptiles, opened Aug. 16 at 1350B W. College Ave. Co-owners Brady Bartel, Choi Schake and Yvonne Stapleton-Polack aim to help these kinds of pets thrive in more natural environments, or "clean, healthy, lively, vibrant displays," as Schake put it.

Bartel, a reptile and fish enthusiast who has worked in pet shops for over a decade, says Wild Habitats is meant to help customers set up bioactive pet habitats and healthy aquarium tanks, as well as teach others how to keep their pets thriving...

The project was for a business class called IncubatorEDU, which prompted students to create a product that would serve as a solution to a common problem...

WAYSIDE – The Wisconsin Ledge AVA is 10 years old, which is slightly longer than it took Steve DeBaker of Trout Springs Winery and Eric Fowle of Niagara Escarpment Resource Network to get the U.S. Department of Agriculture designation.

DeBaker recently hosted a 10th anniversary dinner at his winery to celebrate the designation, which took seven years and 4,000 manhours to secure.
