Lakeshore Technical College graduate donates $100,000 for scholarships

CLEVELAND -- An Army veteran is pledging $100,000 for scholarships at Lakeshore Technical College.

Retired Army Reserve 1st Sgt. Jesse Klein earned associate degrees in information technology from LTC in 2014 after serving tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Klein retired from the military in 2016 after 33 years of service.

LTC says Klein's message to students is: "Knowledge is power, and it will take you places you can never imagine. With enough hard work, you too will be able to pay it forward someday."...

Farm sustainability tour in Brown County addresses ways to feed dairy herd

BROWN COUNTY -- In an effort to stretch their bottom line, some farmers in the area are working on different ways to feed their dairy cows.

It's one of many ideas presented during a traveling seminar series promoted by the Wisconsin Farm Bureau.

At Wiese Brothers Farms south of Greenleaf, owner Dan Wiese says about 6,300 dairy cows eat more than 100 pounds of food each day, and feeding the herd is a priority....

New hangar under construction at Oconto airport, the first of several, will address waiting list

OCONTO – The community’s airport is expanding in its 75th year of operation.

Work started in July on new four-unit hangar at Oconto-J. Douglas Bake Municipal Airport.

It’s the first of several planned in the airport’s new East Hangar development area, according to operations manager Frank Calvert.

A total of 26 planes are kept at the airport, 13 in private hangars and 13 in rental units...
