Gov. Evers, DWD Announce Youth Apprenticeship Offerings, 14 New Occupational Pathways for Students
STATE OF WISCONSIN

MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers today announced that Wisconsin high school juniors and seniors heading back to school this fall will have 14 new occupational pathways that local employers can support, thanks to ongoing modernization efforts by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development (DWD).

“We have to make sure our kids have apprenticeship opportunities and different pathways to get the jobs and skills training they need to join our state’s workforce,” said Gov. Evers. “These latest youth apprenticeship pathways will help strengthen the connections among employers, educators, students, and communities, provide new opportunities for our young people to build their futures, and foster our own home-grown talent in critical industries that support local economies across our state.”...

APPLETON POST-CRESCENT

APPLETON - The Neuroscience Group in Appleton was named a Center of Comprehensive MS Care, becoming the only center in the Fox Valley to receive the name by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

UW Oshkosh Accelerated BSN Option named second-best online nursing program for non-nurses in the nation
UNIVERSITY OF WISCONSIN OSHKOSH

For some who dream of becoming a nurse, traditional nursing education programs may be daunting or just not a good fit with their life circumstances. Offering alternative program options allows those who wouldn’t otherwise pursue their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) to achieve their goal of becoming a nurse.

Nurse.org recently recognized the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Accelerated BSN Option as the second best online nursing program in the nation for non-nurses.

As the first program of its kind to be developed in the United States, the Accelerated BSN Option was designed for individuals who already have a bachelor’s degree and are seeking a BSN. Available to students in any location, the rigorous curriculum allows for non-nurses to achieve their dream of becoming a nurse in just 12 months...

Spark GGB to host Art Squad meeting Sept. 8 to provide updates on the Arts and Economic Prosperity Study
BAY AREA ARTS & CULTURE ALLIANCE (BAACA)

While we are facilitating the last couple of months of Spark GGB! work, Bay Area Arts and Culture Alliance will continue work started earlier this year, as the local partner for this year’s Arts and Economic Prosperity Study. This is the second time this study has been done in our community and it will be critical that we successfully work with Americans for the Arts to develop a comparison data set for the pre and post COVID realities of our artists and arts organizations.

We’d like to invite you to a convening of the Art Squad on September 8th, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m. in the community room at the Greater Green Bay Community Foundation. We will provide updates on both Spark GGB! and AEP6 and provide some context as to how these two initiatives will benefit artists and arts organization to create a healthier arts and culture sector and enhance our ability to make great work for our community, including the development of meaningful resources available to artists and arts organizations.

Hope to see you there! We will have appropriate technology for remote participation as well as in person. The link to join the meeting remotely via TEAMS is here. Click here to join the meeting...
