'Appleton airport is back': ATW sees record-breaking month in July

GREENVILLE -- Appleton's airport says it saw a record-breaking month in July, surpassing the most monthly passengers in the airport's 56-year history.

This past July, Appleton International Airport had more than 77,000 travelers pass through the airport, surpassing the previous record of 75,000 in March of 2019.

“Appleton Airport is back,” Outagamie County executive, Thomas Nelson said. “Local travelers tell us the convenience of nonstop flights to destinations like Atlanta, Charlotte, Denver and Las Vegas make ATW their preferred departure destination, which is a big reason why we’ve rebounded to beyond 100% of where we were before the pandemic.”.....

GREEN BAY -- In Northeast Wisconsin, Realtor Mark Cherney says it's time to sell.

"We've seen seller's markets and we've seen buyer's markets in the past, but I've never seen anything quite like this," Cherney, a real estate broker with Real Living Bay Realtors, said. "There's a high demand, so there's 10 buyers for every house that's listed out there.".

This year's recipients include:

Howard Fire Dept.: New automated external defibrillator
Neenah Police Dept.: Protective equipment for medical personnel
De Pere Police Department: Protective shields for officers during active-shooter events.
Gibraltar Police Department: New police squad car radio.
Oshkosh Fire Department: Smoke machine for fire and rescue training.

Ron's Wisconsin Cheese in Luxemburg tops world for curds

LUXEMBURG -- You can add another prestigious title to the cheese curds from Ron’s Wisconsin Cheese in Luxemburg. Just over a month after capturing the top prize at the Wisconsin State Fair, Ron’s Wisconsin Cheese’s curds took the top two spots at the World Dairy Expo’s Championship Dairy Product Contest in Madison last week in the open class cheese category. 

The cheese curds scored 99.4 and 99.18 points out of 100 respectively, narrowly edging out a Caramel Chocolate Chip Dessert Cheese Ball coated in pecans from Sun Prairie-based Scott’s of Wisconsin. Ron’s Wisconsin Cheese Operations Manager Ben Shibler is thrilled they were able to capture titles in consecutive events...
