Raw pet food maker Carnivore Meat Co. announces $55 million Green Bay expansion

GREEN BAY - Carnivore Meat Co. will build a $55 million facility on Green Bay's far east side to keep up with growing demand for its ultra-premium pet food products.

Carnivore has been a leader and innovator in producing raw frozen and freeze-dried pet foods and treats since CEO Lanny Viegut founded the company in Green Bay in 2012. It started with 30 employees working in 6,000 square feet of warehouse space and has grown to employ 210 people at four production sites.

The company's Vital Essentials, Vital Cat and Nature's Advantage brands can be found at more than 7,000 independent pet stores in the U.S., top e-commerce sites like Chewy and Amazon, and in 14 countries....

ASHWAUBENON – “Oh my gosh,” said receptionist Donna Nikodem when asked how she likes her company’s new digs in the US Venture Center building on the west end of Ashwaubenon’s Titletown District.

“It’s so bright with all the windows – I was at the other building for 21 years – it’s just wonderful,” she said. “Plus there’s a grocery store right next door. I like that it’s so centrally located.”

Nikodem is one of about 125 employees of accounting firm CliftonLarsonAllen, LLP (CLA) who were on hand to welcome members of the media for an open house last Friday along with representatives of Titletown Office Partners – the real estate development partnership led by the Green Bay Packers and Commercial Horizons...

Door County Candle Company ramps up efforts ahead of Ukrainian Independence Day

STURGEON BAY -- A Door County candle business hopes to reach $1 million in its efforts to raise money for Ukrainians.

Packers Foundation donates record amount, $1.35 million

GREEN BAY -- The Green Bay Packers Foundation is awarding $1.35 million in grants around the state, including $850,000 to Brown County alone.

This is the largest donation the program has given out at one time.

Five organizations in Brown County will be receiving funding. Curative Connections, Inc. received $250,000 for their Yesteryear Village project, which provides care to those with memory loss. Syble Hopp School was awarded $100,000 to put to its vocational/community training space equipment. Belin Health Foundation, Inc. received a $250,000 grant to go toward building a larger facility. Friends of the Fox River Trail was awarded $50,000 for trail repairs and enhancements...

U-Haul to grow 'storage footprint' with 100,000-square-foot Kaukauna location

KAUKAUNA – An all-in-one retail, moving and self-storage facility is coming to the Fox Cities.

U-Haul recently acquired 4.66 acres of land at 1550 Arbor Way in Kaukauna, just north of Interstate 41 next to Aurora BayCare's urgent care clinic. Here, U-Haul plans to construct a four-story building spanning more than 100,000 square feet that will offer a plethora of services. The new facility is expected to create at least 15 jobs.

“The Fox Cities include 19 communities along the Fox River, which have been underserved when it comes to quality self-storage,” said Ken Heitman, president of U-Haul Company of Northern Wisconsin and the UP. “This area is seeing significant population swells. Our expansion here is fundamental to meeting the public’s growing self-storage demands.”...

Dollar General opens another location in Oconto County

LAKEWOOD – Dollar General now has five stores in Oconto County, after the national retailer opened its latest on July 30.

Along with a range of general merchandise, home décor and party goods, the store at 17210 Emma Lea Lane – just off State 32 – also carries a variety of food items.

2022 Fox Cities Future 15 Awards nominations now open

FOX CITIES -- The Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce and its Pulse Young Professionals Network are ready to select the 12th annual class of Fox Cities Future 15 Young Professionals. Nominations are open now through Aug. 26 at https://form.jotform.com/222015730278147.

These awards recognize young professionals, aged 40 and under, who live and/or work in the Fox Cities region (Outagamie, Calumet, and northern Winnebago Counties) and excel professionally while also giving back to the community. Those nominated will be asked to submit an application. Completed applications will be advanced for award consideration to a selection committee made up of past Future 15 award recipients and area business leaders.
