RIGHT MANAGEMENT 

The New North Workplace Excellence Award, a collaboration between New North and Right Management, recognizes organizations that are improving their competitive advantage through people practices that lead to successful business outcomes.

Organizations located within the 18-county New North region are eligible to apply. This includes companies that have a division or location within the New North, but are not necessarily headquartered in the New North.

Coronavirus Business Impact Survey seeks responses
UW OSHKOSH 

Thank you for taking Parts One through Fifteen of our Coronavirus Disruption Survey. As citizens and businesses in the state of Wisconsin take measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, there are undeniable economic impacts. UW Oshkosh is now distributing Part Sixteen (for July 2021) to businesses in our area to assess the economic hardship.

Your feedback is very important in helping us understand the full disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. This month's feedback is especially important as we continue to map both the effects of an recovery from the pandemic. DE PERE - Interstate 41 between Appleton and Green Bay, an especially dangerous stretch of highway, could look a lot different in the next five to eight years.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation plans to reconstruct a 23-mile segment of I-41 from the Wisconsin Avenue exit in Appleton north to the Scheuring Road exit in De Pere to address congestion, decaying pavement and a higher-than-average rate of crashes. That stretch saw more than 1,600 crashes from 2015 to 2019, averaging nearly one a day, according to DOT statistics.....

DOOR COUNTY -- Quantum PC’s Erin Helgeson has four good reasons why your kids should consider apprenticeships and internships.

Curtis Barganz completed his apprenticeship at Quantum PC earlier this year before Caden Kacmaryanski, Trevor Ash and Weston Mann joined the team earlier this summer. Barganz turned his apprenticeship into a full-time role with the company while Kacmaryanski, Ash, and Mann all hope their time opens doors in the future. Ash and Mann will stay on through the school year as a part of the Ahnapee Youth Apprenticeship program. Helgeson says the four boys representing Sturgeon Bay, Sevastopol, and Gibraltar high schools are great examples of how getting your foot in the door can help you decide if you want to continue on a particular career path....

Manufacturing performance in Sheboygan among best in nation

SHEBOYGAN -- Sheboygan is among the top cities in the U.S. where manufacturing is thriving. That, according to a survey of 294 cities by AdvisorSmith, a New York Based company that specializes in insurance information for business owners.

AdvisorSmith used information from federal bureaus and looked at four key economic factors to make their rankings: manufacturing output and employment growth rates from 2015-2019, and manufacturing output per capita and a manufacturing location quotient from 2019. Among small cities – those under 150,000 population – Sheboygan was ranked second behind Columbus, Indiana, and Sheboygan ranked 4th overall regardless of size...
