The Oscar C. Boldt Wellness Center for veterans opens in Appleton

APPLETON -- Appleton veterans now have a new wellness center. It's located in the Wisconsin Veterans Village.

The Oscar C. Boldt Wellness Center is named in honor of a World War II army pilot who passed away last year. His son, Tom, is the CEO of The Boldt Company, which provided funding for the veterans village.

The 35 residents of the village will be able to use the fitness center whenever they want.....

Kewaunee County applies for more broadband grants

KEWAUNEE COUNTY -- You may soon be able to find more reliable internet in rural areas in Kewaunee County. In a pair of resolutions approved by 16-1 votes on Tuesday, the Kewaunee County Board authorized applications for broadband grants with partners Hilbert Communications and Charter. 

Hilbert Communications is the parent company of Bug Tussel Wireless which is already building a network Kewaunee County Administrator Scott Feldt hopes will be at least partly ready by the end of August. Charter has proposed installing fiber to all unserved areas in the county within a two to three-year time frame. Feldt emphasized to the board that despite the over $30 million price tag proposed by Charter that the county would treat both companies fairly....

WisDOT seeking input on I-41 project in Brown, Outagamie counties

The public will have the opportunity to speak on a road project in Outagamie and Brown counties.

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is hosting a public hearing for the I-41 Project from WIS 96 (Wisconsin Ave.) in Outagamie County to County F (Scheuring Rd.) in Brown County.

The I-41 project aims to provide a safe, reliable highway that meets interstate standards and addresses safety and operational deficiencies. In addition, it will also address the outdated Wrightstown Safety and Weight Enforcement Facility (SWEF) to allow it to operate effectively with proposed improvements to I-41....
