Evers announces Wisconsin Coastal Management Program grants for Kewaunee County

ALGOMA -- Gov. Tony Evers appeared in Algoma Thursday, announcing four grants from the Wisconsin Coastal Management Program that will impact Kewaunee County.

Founded in 1978, WCMP seeks to preserve and improve access to the natural and historic resources along the coasts of the Great Lakes in Wisconsin.

The program focuses on improving the enforcement and overall coordination of policies already in place regarding coastal uses and areas. Additionally, WCMP strives to increase public awareness of opportunities to engage in decisions impacting the Great Lakes resources. Silver Maple Solar plans solar farm in Fond du Lac, Winnebago Counties for 2024 operation

FOND DU LAC - A solar project in western Fond du Lac and Winnebago Counties aims to produce clean energy for the area.

Silver Maple Solar, LLC has eyed approximately 1,600 acres of land across the towns of Eldorado and Rosendale in Fond du Lac County and the town of Nekimi in Winnebago County for a 200-megawatt solar energy facility.

Pending local and Wisconsin Public Service Commission permitting, the company anticipates construction to start next year, and operation to start in 2024, creating about 300 local jobs in the process....

Lifest expected to bring in tens of thousands of people to Oshkosh

OSHKOSH -- One of the nation’s largest Christian music festivals opened the gates Thursday in Oshkosh.

Lifest goes through July 9 at the fairgrounds in Winnebago County. It brings in tens of thousands of people each day.

Some festival goers camp out in campers and tents.

This year, there are extra barriers and guards and security due to recent violence in the country. Organizers say they wanted to ensure no one has to worry about their safety....

2022 Iola Car Show underway, features 2.5K models

OLA – Governor Tony Evers officially proclaimed July 3 through July 9 as Iola Car Show Week throughout the state of Wisconsin.

The proclamation comes on the verge of the 50th anniversary of the Iola Car Show and Swap Meet, scheduled for July 7 through July 9.

The Iola Car Show began in 1972 with an invitation from Chet Krause to a few of his friends. Now, the event rakes in guests and eventgoers from all over the nation, and even some from different parts of the world.
