Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. announced a definitive agreement to acquire privately held Mid-States Aluminum Corp. for $96 million.

The proposed acquisition is expected to close during the third quarter 2023.

Mid-States Aluminum is a vertically integrated manufacturer of custom aluminum extrusions and fabrications. Its services include design, engineering, extrusions, fabrication, anodizing and finishing, assembly, and packaging....

GREEN BAY – Wisconsin needs more women working in its forest products industry, and that's why leaders of the Wisconsin Paper Council and Ahlstrom say they are teaming up to create a new, first-of-its-kind scholarship.

The two organizations launched the Women in Forest Products Scholarship on Tuesday at the Wisconsin Paper Council's annual meeting held at Lambeau Field. Ahlstrom, a global Finnish company that produces specialty papers at four plants in Rhinelander, Mosinee, Kaukauna and De Pere, gifted $20,000 to establish the program....

UW-Milwaukee to accept transfers from Lakeshore Technical College

CLEVELAND -- Students now have the chance to begin their college educations at Lakeshore Technical College and continue at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

Appleton's new library project back on track with approval of construction bids

APPLETON -- Appleton is moving forward once again with its hopes for a new library, after the original construction bids came in more than $14 million over budget.

Appleton's Common Council voted Wednesday night to approve the second round of bids, which will allow the project to remain in budget. Now, the contractor will work with the selected bidders to complete different parts of the project....
