GREEN BAY - Nicolet National Bank aims to strengthen its agricultural lending business by acquiring one of the state’s largest lenders to farmers in a deal announced Tuesday morning.

Village of Hilbert buys Bel Brands cheese factory for redevelopment
WBAY

HILBERT - The Village of Hilbert plans to demolish the old Bel Brands cheese factory as part of its redevelopment plan that was put into place in 2018.

The Village purchased the building on Monday, June 21. The cheese factory has stood vacant since the 1990s.

The purchase was made possible due to two separate grants from the state that will cover 100% of the costs. The project is estimated to cost $738,000....

Ground broken for new ammunition plant in Manitowoc

MANITOWOC -- Construction is underway for a new ammunition manufacturing plant in Manitowoc.

Ammo Inc. hopes to make the plant on Custer Street a cornerstone of its business.

ThedaCare Medical Center-Berlin completes updates in Emergency Department

BERLIN -- To guarantee access to emergency care, Thedacare is excited to announce the completion of updates to the Thedacare Medical Center-Berlin’s Emergency Department.

Thedacare says these updates are important because of the need for emergency care in rural communities, especially critical care which increased despite rural populations have decreased.

The facility cost 8 and a half million dollars to construct. The Emergency Department will now be able to care for patients in a 9,000 square feet space.

Team members can start caring for patients in the updated ED beginning next week....

Mile of Music organizers announce Mile 8 festival

APPLETON -- The streets of Downtown Appleton will once again be filled with the sound of music this year, after Mile of Music organizers announced Monday afternoon that a music festival will once again be held in the area.

The Mile 8 festival will be held from 12 p.m. on Thursday, August 5 until about 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 8, and will consist of more than 600 live music sets and music education sessions at more than 40 host venues and festival spaces.

“We hope that we don’t have a lot of venues that will be noses to noggins as I call it, that there’s a little bit of distancing going on and more outside music. We’ll have significantly more outside music,” said Mile of Music Founder Dave Willems....
