ThedaCare CEO reflects on first five years on the job
WBAY

APPLETON -- This month marks five years since ThedaCare President and CEO Dr. Imran Andrabi took over the Appleton-based health care organization. No one could have predicted the challenges we’ve all faced-- specifically the pandemic, but ThedacCare has used the pandemic to improve what it offers.

In just weeks, ThedaCare Medical Center-Orthopedic, Spine and Pain will open. The comprehensive center is the newest facility in the ThedaCare family. According to Dr. Andrabi, “This is going to be a one-stop shop, where people don’t have to go here, there and everywhere for care provided by their physicians, X-ray, CT, MRIs. If you need an admission, if you need surgery, if you need to get rehab, if you want to get back to your optimal health, a rehab pool -- all of those things are right here, under one roof.”

It’s that kind of access to health care people are craving these days. In addition to the Orthopedic, Spine and Pain center, ThedaCare is also in the middle of a $100 million renovation of its Neenah hospital campus...

Door County, Maritime Hub of the Great Lakes
THE MARITIME EXECUTIVE

Wisconsin may not come to mind during discussions of the maritime industry, but with over 800 miles of Great Lakes coastline and an additional 200 miles on the Mississippi River, the state is one of the most industrious hubs of maritime activity on the nation’s “Fresh Coast.” From massive commercial vessels over 1,000 feet in length to sport fishing vessels of all sizes, the region thrives on the water and on the opportunities provided by every flavor of the marine industry.

A fraction of the state's maritime talents and treasures were featured recently during a weekend press tour of Door County’s “Maritime Past, Present, and Future.” Surrounded by 300 miles of the state’s Great Lakes coast, Wisconsin’s Door Peninsula is home to many maritime industries whose reach extends beyond the region and beyond the United States....

But there’s also the show off-Broadway. Beautiful murals tucked away on the side streets and alleyways.

That includes the work of Green Bay artist Andrew Liskens. His beige and white masterpiece entitled “Ghost Flowers” had a lot of people venturing behind the “Gather” event space for a closer look.

“People walk by and there’s an immediate endorphin rush,” Liskens said. “There’s no elitist baggage. Anybody can walk up to it. I love it!”...
