Ascension adds program to Fox Valley hospitals to help patients struggling with addiction
OSHKOSH NORTHWESTERN

OSHKOSH – Amy Richards faced a lot of struggle in her life.

Over a decade ago, Richards dealt with a lot of trauma and some stretches where she experienced homelessness, which helped lead to drug use. For her, that was mostly heroin or other opioids. But she said she was "trash can user," trying almost any type of drug just so she could black out and forget soon after she woke up.

"I was really in a bad place," Richards said.

Despite facing some legal troubles and going through drug court in Outagamie County, she eventually started to get back on her feet. She has now been sober for 10 years and has been working for Apricity Health Services, a treatment program that offers in-patient treatment, transitional housing and employment opportunities, in a variety of roles....

De Pere's Tech4 celebrates 25 years in business
PRESS TIMES

DE PERE – Inspired to create a company they wanted to work for, Tech4 president and co-founder Michael Fronsee said he and four of his co-workers did what creative engineers do – “we rolled up our sleeves and designed our own.”

“On July 8, 1997, after unexpectedly leaving a company that no longer fit our dreams, four engineering professionals and a marketing guy sat around a circle on five-gallon pails to discuss what kind of automation company we would like to work for,” Fronsee said. “After much discussion, it became clear that the organization we would want to work for didn’t exist.”

Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, Tech4, a design and engineer control systems company, is taking the time to look back at what brought them this far...

New Hmong Professionals expands mission to serve the community more fully in northeast Wisconsin
WISCONSIN PUBLIC RADIO

In 2019, Long Vue was part of a group of Hmong professionals who started getting together in northeast Wisconsin for various networking, career development and leadership opportunities.

But a suspected murder-suicide later that year "shook the whole community," he said. It shifted his framing of what the group could — and should — accomplish.

"We have to do something because there (are) emergent needs," he said. "We want to get a safe space or event base (to) get together and know each other, elevate each other (and) really work together because through this process, hopefully we can make something great."...

Interview: The state of the dairy state
WBAY

GREEN BAY -- June is Dairy Month in Wisconsin. The state accounts for 25% of all U.S. cheese production and 48% of specialty cheese production. It ranks #1 for the number of dairy farms -- 23% of all dairy farms in the nation -- and #2 for the number of cows (we have 14% of the dairy cows).

While Wisconsinites are celebrating the long history of dairy in the Dairy State, it’s also a time for looking at the state of the industry and the costs of running dairy farms.

Action 2 News anchor Chris Roth talks with Randy Romanski, Wisconsin Secretary of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection, about how farmers weathered the pandemic, the Farm Support Program, and the factor Romanski calls “vitally important” to the future of farms....
