NEENAH – Late last year, Tim Bergstrom promised that 2022 would be a busy year for his company.

“It will probably be one of our biggest growth years ever as far as investing and infrastructure,” the Bergstrom Automotive CEO and president told The Post-Crescent in November.

That has held true, as Bergstrom has broken ground on several projects since the new year. The most notable is the construction of a new Lincoln dealership at the existing Bergstrom campus at 525 S. Green Bay Rd. in Neenah, next to Festival Foods at the Winneconne Avenue exit off Interstate 41. The 6,000-square-foot dealership, which will feature a glass showroom and electric vehicle displays, is set to open Sept. 15...

MENASHA -- An office building in downtown Menasha is being converted into a mixed-use development with commercial and residential space.

Hoffman Planning, Design & Construction Inc. says it is converting the current three-story office building at 130 Main St. The basement and first floor will be commercial space. The second and third floors will be made into 14 apartments. A fourth floor will also be added. The exterior brick will be stained and new windows will be installed.....

Gov. Evers visits local meat processing facility, $15 million in grants

DENMARK – The Governor of Wisconsin made a visit to the area to stop at Salm Partners, a meat processing facility in Denmark.

On May 23, Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers announced a grant that invests up to $10 million that will help improve the stability of the state’s livestock industry.

The Meat and Poultry Supply Chain Resiliency Grant Program brings the total to $15 million that has been committed by Governor Evers to Wisconsin’s meat processors, after the $5 million dedicated through the Meat Talent Development Program, announced on January 11...

S.S. Badger to shift away from coal to new power source

LUDINGTON, Mich. — A coal-powered passenger steamship on Lake Michigan that's the last of its kind in the U.S. will stop using coal to fuel its historic engines once its operators settle on an alternate power source.

Lake Michigan Carferry Inc. is early in its search for what could replace the coal that currently propels the 410-foot S.S. Badger on treks between Ludington, Michigan, and Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

“We are just in the early phases at looking at what other options could be viable for the Badger,” Sara Spore, general manager of Lake Michigan Carferry, told MLive.com...
