Electric evolution: Manufacturers embrace alternative energy sources

When Grant Fisk, co-founder of Volatus Infrastructure, invoked “The Jetsons” in introducing an electric Vehicle Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) vertiport that’s slated to come to Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Hanna-Barbera cartoon fans of a certain age must have been filled with giddiness.

Vertiports are locations designed to support eVTOL aircraft, and the one at Wittman will become “the first in the Americas,” Fisk said at an April press conference announcing the investment. It will include a terminal with amenities, a landing pad and a “vehicle-agnostic” charging station, meaning it can charge any eVTOL aircraft...

UW-Green Bay, Brown County raise awareness for Mental Health Awareness Month

GREEN BAY — From local colleges to local government, organizations across Northeast Wisconsin are coming together in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month. Thursday UW-Green Bay partnered with UW-Oshkosh and the Center for Suicide Awareness in Kaukana to host a suicide prevention summit where panelists shared their own experiences with mental health struggles and discussed the risk factors of suicide.

GRB teams up with Road America

Wisconsin Ukrainians celebrate World Vyshyvanka Day in Green Bay

GREEN BAY — On Vyshyvanka Day, a group from the Green Bay area gathered together in their Ukrainian embroidered shirts to express unity with Ukrainians around the world.

"A college student came up with this idea to have a national Vyshyvanka Day," Howard resident Tanya Sushkova said. "So she asked everybody to wear a vyshyvanka."

Sushkova is originally from Western Ukraine. On Thursday, she joined her group "Wisconsin Ukrainians" to celebrate the culture.

"No matter where you live, if you don't live in Ukraine anymore, if you don't speak Ukrainian language but you still have Ukrainian roots, you wear a vyshyvanka and that shows that you're from Ukraine," she said.
