GO TRANSIT

OSHKOSH – GO Transit, the public transportation service in the Greater Oshkosh area, is excited to unveil the new Quantum securement technology on its buses on Thursday, May 19 at 11 a.m. at the Oshkosh Seniors Center, located at 200 N. The company hosted its annual Signing Day event where area high schoolers see and participate in hands-on demos. Youth apprentices connected with industry leaders and unions. Some signed letters of intent to work in the trades.

“One of the really cool things about our industry is that we understand today that you can start in the trades and do my job, you can own a company, the sky is the limit. And I think we as a society are starting to realize again the genuine value of great labor,” Executive Vice President of Boldt Ben Bruns said....

100,000 square foot manufacturing facility breaks ground in Wrightstown
WLUK

WRIGHTSTOWN -- A new manufacturing building is coming to Wrightstown, but it doesn't have any buyers yet.

Officials tell us it's a speculative building, which means the real estate firm does not have any particular tenant locked in right now.

The 100,00-square-foot facility is expected to be the largest speculative building in the history of Brown County.

"It's a need within the community that we’ve established, being that the vacancy rate for manufacturing industrial space in Brown County is so low," Village of Wrightstown Administrator Travis Coenen said....

$835 million on contractor hands after utility regulators approve sale of Kewaunee nuke plant
LA CROSSE TRIBUNE

KEWAUNEE -- Wisconsin regulators have approved the sale of a shuttered nuclear plant, leaving hundreds of millions of ratepayer dollars in the hands of a private contractor.

The Public Service Commission voted unanimously Wednesday to allow Dominion Energy to sell the Kewaunee Nuclear Power Plant to Utah-based EnergySolutions for an undisclosed sum. EnergySolutions will also get about $835 million set aside to cover the cost of decommissioning the 49-year-old plant.

The commission rejected arguments from consumer advocates who said the deal lacked provisions that could return some $285 million to customers of Alliant Energy and Wisconsin Public Service Corporation...
