Paradise North Distillery owner follows dream, creates destination business
GREEN BAY PRESS GAZETTE  

The Green Bay Packers might be the greatest tourist draw in the area, but Tom Feld, owner of Paradise North Distillery in Green Bay, is hoping his new business will become another talked-about destination.

Located on 101 Bay Beach Road, Feld opened in 2021 after years of planning. He came to the project with decades of business experience in everything from high-level consulting to partnerships in other businesses.

“Other than the hospitality industry, there isn’t any other type of business that I haven’t been part of, but prior to this, I had never had a startup business," Feld said. "What I learned through working with other owners is that if your No. 1 focus is to make money, it won’t end up well.”...

New Ledgeview brewery to feature beer garden and miniature cabins

LEDGEVIEW -- A new brewery broke ground in Ledgeview Friday.

Cocoon Brewery is going up on Kaftan Way off of County Road G. The 6,000 square-foot brewery will feature a tap room, beer garden and a food menu. It will also uniquely feature miniature cabins on the roughly four-acre property. The cabins, affectionately called cocoons, will be available for small groups to rent out for a more private experience.

The brewery is owned by twin brothers who used to collect butterflies growing up in Antigo.

One of the brothers, Matt Walters, says he was a home brewer for about five years and a craft beer enthusiast for much longer...

GREEN BAY – Eliza Cussen and Elizabeth Paulson, founders of Divorcist, a gift-registry site geared toward the recently single, said they take pride in breaking the stigma in divorce.

After combining their creative ideas for years, Paulson and Cussen said they were inspired to launch Divorcist by a few different situations – Paulson’s own divorce, another friend’s divorce and Cussen’s work on her own baby registry while she was pregnant.

Cussen said in the process of putting together her baby registry she has a strong support system, while her friends experiencing divorces and heavy breakups weren’t receiving the same level of support...

Boho Posh Picnics brings a new dining experience to Sheboygan
SHEBOYGAN COUNTY ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORP (SCEDC)     

SHEBOYGAN — The Sheboygan County Economic Development Corporation (SCEDC) and Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at UW-Green Bay aim to provide a wide variety of services, resources, and expertise to help encourage entrepreneurial opportunities in Sheboygan County, including businesses that offer unique services and experiences to the community.

With the assistance of the SCEDC and SBDC, Lisa Salgado started Boho Posh Picnics, a new picnic rental service that provides a unique dining experience to Sheboygan, WI. Luxury picnics are popular in major cities across the country and the mission of Boho Posh Picnics is to offer this service locally in Sheboygan. Salgado founded the business with the goal of using luxury picnic settings to create memorable moments for others....

Four Northeast Wisconsin school districts receive $25,000 Fab Lab grants

Twenty-one Wisconsin school districts were awarded Fab Lab grants, including four from Northeast Wisconsin.

Governor Tony Evers and the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) announced more than $508,000 in grants were awarded to establish or expand local fabrication laboratory (fab lab) facilities at the school districts.

The fab lab is a high-technology workshop equipped with computer-controlled manufacturing components such as 3D printers, laser engravers, computer numerical control routers and plasma cutters. Through its Fab Lab Grant Program, WEDC is supporting the purchase of fab lab equipment for instructional and educational purposes by elementary, middle, junior high or high school students...
