ThedaCare holds groundbreaking ceremony for $100M Neenah project

NEENAH -- ThedaCare ceremonially broke ground Friday on a $100 million expansion and renovation of its Neenah hospital.

Thedacare’s “Inspired Past; Healthier Future” modernization is looking to transform health care for all living in the area.

“At the end of the day, this is all great, but what really matters is how we serve the people in our community,” Dr. Imran Andrabi, president and CEO of ThedaCare said Friday at the ceremony.

Part of the project includes an expansion and redesign of the emergency department to create additional space...

Future USS Beloit christened in Marinette

MARINETTE -- A celebration was held today at the Fincantieri Marinette Marine shipyard to honor a huge milestone.

The newest littoral combat ship was christened, and it means a lot for some people in one Wisconsin city.

"They had bus loads of individuals from Beloit coming up here," said Steve Allen, vice president of Lockheed Martin. "It's absolutely amazing for a smaller city to have the type of representation for the terms of the name sake for the ship."..

About 35 kids, between 7 and 12 years old, set up booths during the Children's Business Fair.

They sold food, art, jewelry, crafts, and more, to real customers.

SS Badger Lake Michigan car ferry makes its first sail to Manitowoc this week. Here's how to join the festivities.

MANITOWOC - The S.S. Badger Lake Michigan car ferry makes its maiden voyage of the season from Ludington, Michigan, to Manitowoc on Thursday.

The 410-foot S.S. Badger will arrive in Manitowoc around noon — and the community is invited to join in a festive welcome at the car ferry dock at 900 S. Lakeview Drive that will include music by the Manitowoc Lincoln High School band.

The S.S. Badger, which will sport a fresh coat of paint this year, will continue to operate daily from May 12 through Oct. 16...

Former Factory Transitions To “Four Wheel Drive” Museum

Did you know that the four-wheel drive was born in Clintonville, Wisconsin?

The Four Wheel Drive (FWD)Foundation was formed in 1964 for the purpose of preserving the history of the invention of the first successful four-wheel drive vehicles in the world.

The small machine shop located on the corner of Eleventh Street and Memorial Drive in Clintonville is where the famous invention was designed, built and tested by inventors Otto Zachow and William Besserdich. The world’s first successful FWD vehicle, nicknamed the Battleship, in addition to other historic FWD vehicles, were housed in this historic building to be viewed and enjoyed by visitors and residents of this community for many years...
