Nature's Way announces expansion to Gummy facility in Green Bay
WBAY  

GREEN BAY -- Nature’s Way is planning a “major expansion” of its facility in Green Bay to meet the demand for Gummy products.

The supplement manufacturer has announced a 116,000 square foot addition to the 80,000 square foot Gummy facility, which opened two years ago.

Construction will begin this summer with the goal to be finished by the 3rd quarter of 2023. The facility is located on Challenger Dr.

Nature’s Way plans to hire 25-30 additional employees...

'A huge milestone': Door County Candle Co. raises over half-a-million dollars for relief efforts in Ukraine

STURGEON BAY - When Door County Candle Co. started its Ukraine Candle fundraiser in February, owner Christiana Gorchynsky Trapani's goal was to raise $5,000 by selling a vanilla-scented candle in the blue and yellow colors of the Ukrainian flag and donating all the profits.

Now that the company's raised over 100 times that amount? "I'm obviously shocked, thrilled, and very, very, happy," Trapani said. "Getting to over half a million dollars was a huge milestone."...

Winneconne High School student wins Congressional Art Competition

GREEN BAY -- The works of young artists were on display Wednesday,

U.S. Rep. Mike Gallagher, R-8th District, announced the winner of the Congressional Art Competition at the Neville Public Museum.

The annual competition allows high school students to showcase their works across each congressional district.

The winning entry will be displayed for one year in the Canon Tunnel at the U.S. Capitol in D.C...

People of Progression Hosts First Ever Hip Hop Health Fair at the Wisconsin Academy of Sports in Grand Chute
PEOPLE OF PROGRESSION  

GRAND CHUTE – People of Progression (POP), a volunteer organization focused on helping marginalized African-Americans in the Fox Valley, is hosting the first-ever Hip Hop Health Fair on Saturday, May 14 from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Wisconsin Academy of Sports, located at 3375 W. College Ave. in Grand Chute (map).

Several esteemed guests attending include former NFL players, a former USA International soccer player, movement specialists, massage therapists and holistic wellness professionals. There will also be live music provided by DJ BWoop and an appearance by Vibez TV.

“The pandemic has had a profound impact on so many people’s physical and mental health,” explained Kristen Gondek, People of Progression co-founder. “The impact the pandemic has taken on the Black community is so much greater, and we’re hoping to bring that community out for some fun and some good old-fashioned physical activity.”...

SHEBOYGAN - The all-new, state-of-the-art Humane Society of Sheboygan County Carol Hollfelder Animal Shelter will open to the public Friday after a ribbon-cutting earlier this week.

Sachin Shivaram, chief executive officer of Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry in Manitowoc received the Economic Accelerator of the Year Award at the 2022 Progress Lakeshore Excellence in Economic Development event. The award recognizes an individual or organization that has played a key role in economic development. In addition to being a board member of the New North, Sachin is a member of the Governor's Council on Workforce Investment, serving as a voice for Northeast Wisconsin and the Lakeshore on a state level.
