National Science Foundation gives $336,650 renewable energy grant to Lakeshore Technical College

Lakeshore Technical College, based out of Cleveland, WI, was chosen to receive the Expanding Advanced Renewable Energy Technician Education in a Technical College grant, which is funded by the National Science Foundation. 

The grant, which is worth $336,650 is the first of its kind to be awarded to Lakeshore by the NSF and will aid the continued education on the production and storage of renewable energy. Lakeshore’s Wind Energy Technology instructor Justin Barret and local entrepreneurial leaders in the renewable energy sector are collaborating to expand education on renewable energy, chiefly among employers in the college’s vicinity...

Wisconsin manufacturers express cautious optimism about the future, survey shows

More than half of respondents to a survey of Wisconsin manufacturers said they expect to see increases in profits this year, according to the poll released Friday.

The Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership, or WMEP, carried out the survey last month, in which 63 percent of the companies surveyed said they expect profitability to increase this year.
