GREEN BAY – Registration is now open for the New North Summit, Northeast Wisconsin’s largest economic development event. The annual gathering will be held at the Lambeau Field Atrium in Green Bay on Thursday, June 8 from 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m.

The New North Summit will feature programs, speakers and networking opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs to expand their knowledge and skills.

Keynote speakers include Shawn Glover, Director of Culture Transformation and Future of Work for Fortune 500 financial services company Thrivent; Corey Behnke, co-founder and lead producer of live streaming production company LiveX; and Ben Kvalo, an entertainment and video games industry leader at Netflix...

KEWAUNEE COUNTY -- Much like their neighbors to the north, the Kewaunee County Economic Development Corporation hopes you see more housing options in the community in the future. Kewaunee County Economic Development Corporation Executive Director Ben Nelson outlined housing along with broadband and mid-sized business diversification as major parts of its strategic plan moving forward during his quarterly report to the Kewaunee County Board on Tuesday. 

Nelson specifically mentioned that having newer housing stock available so prospective employees could move to the area easily was a major talking point during his conversation with local business leaders. He says a portion of their agenda for the upcoming Door/Kewaunee Legislative Days will also be directed at developing more housing..”....

Door Community Child Development Center breaks ground on new child care facility

STURGEON BAY - The Door Community Child Development Center opened its doors in 2020 during the height of the pandemic, after its executive director Alexis Fuller posted on Facebook her aspirations to start a nonprofit child care center.

Three years later, Fuller and her sister Bridget Starr, have worked together to bring a new child care facility to Door County.

On Friday afternoon, the Door Community Child Development Center held a groundbreaking for its new 18,500-square-foot sustainable facility off Gordon Road in Sturgeon Bay....

New Sister Bay clinic debuts Monday

SISTER BAY -- You will see Door County Medical Center’s newest facility in action beginning on Monday in Sister Bay. March 27th marks the first-day patients will be able to take advantage of the new Sister Bay Clinic, which will open to rehabilitation clients for their afternoon appointments. 

A week later, all patients will be able to access the building that will offer more providers and more services for Northern Door County residents. Previously, patients would have to travel to either Fish Creek or Sturgeon Bay for their appointments in medical areas like cardiology and audiology. Door County Medical Center CEO Brian Stephens said last month that there is a lot of excitement around how much better they will be able to serve the community due to the bigger space at the Sister Bay Clinic....

That program led to a job as a flagger and later as a traffic control technician on the major rebuild of Interstate 41 in Green Bay...
