Ukraine donations left Fox Valley Tech Wednesday

GRAND CHUTE -- A truck left Fox Valley Technical College Wednesday morning to deliver medical and military supplies to the people of Ukraine.
The truck left about 8 a.m. with two staff members from the college. The truck is loaded up with items collected by Wisconsin Ukrainians, Inc. The group reached out to FVTC for help with transportation.
“We have a robust Transportation division and Truck Driving program that ensures our graduates and drivers will deliver goods between locations in a safe and efficient manner,” says Dr. Jennifer Lanter, interim chief academic officer. “We are happy to have a dedicated Transportation staff and semitrailers to support the collection and transportation efforts of Wisconsin Ukrainians, Inc.”..

LTC receives over $1.4 million in grants, the most of any Wisconsin technical college

CLEVELAND - Lakeshore Technical College has received $1.43 million in competitive grant funding from the Wisconsin Technical College system. The award is the highest amount given to any college in the 16-school system.

180 Afghan evacuees have moved to the Fox Valley. Here's what comes next for them

APPLETON – For the 180 Afghan evacuees who have moved into new homes in the Fox Valley, it's the end of a six-month journey to find a safe place after their lives were uprooted by the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan.
But housing is just the beginning of adjusting to new lives 7,000 miles from home.
World Relief Fox Valley, a local affiliate of national resettlement organization World Relief, began placing Afghan evacuees in new homes in the Appleton and Oshkosh areas in October, and welcomed the last of the 180 evacuees to the area Feb. 9....

Governor signs dairy export bill in Plymouth

The Cheese Capital of the World, Plymouth, made for an appropriate venue on National Agriculture Day as Governor Tony Evers on Tuesday signed a bill into law that will help bolster Wisconsin’s dairy exports.
Senate Bill 827, now Wisconsin Act 207, is a follow-up to legislation enacted in December which directed the Department of Ag, Trade, and Consumer Protection to work collaboratively with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation to increase the value of Wisconsin’s milk and dairy, meat, crop, and other product exports by 25% by June 30, 2026....

The Michigan Great Lakes (tug and barge) kicked off the Port of Green Bay shipping season Friday, March 18 with a delivery of petroleum products to US Venture.
