New microgrant fund of New North to support ethnic, diverse businesses
NEW NORTH, INC.

NEW NORTH – New North Inc., in partnership with The Business Council (TBC) and the Ethnic & Diverse Business Coalition (EDBC), has established a microgrant fund designed to provide funding to nonprofit organizations located in the New North region that support ethnic and diverse businesses in their startup or growth phase.

The application for grants up to $20,000 – for initiatives or events taking place prior to Dec. 31, 2023 – now is available at https://www.thenewnorth.com/ethnic-diverse-microgrants-for-non-profits/. The application deadline is April 30, 2023. Based on remaining capital, a second round of applications may be funded later this year...

ATW seeks state budget amendment for terminal expansion

APPLETON -- Appleton International Airport is seeking an amendment to the Wisconsin state budget that would allocate $11.4 million for a proposed terminal expansion that would cost more than $77 million.

The expansion and modernization are based on an FAA-approved 2020 Terminal Area Plan and includ a 60,000-square-foot concourse expansion to 10 gates with the option for two more in the future.There also would be technology improvements, a reconfigured entry, expanded ticketing, baggage claim and make-up systems...

APPLETON – A musical theater staple for more than 40 years, "Cats" is making its way to the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center this weekend for five shows only.

Based on a collection of poems from T.S. Eliot, "Cats" tells the story of a group of stray cats in a junkyard who annually come together for the "Jellicle Ball," during which time they select one cat to ascend to the "Heaviside Layer" and be reborn. The musical was composed by Andrew Lloyd Weber and premiered on the West End in 1981 and on Broadway in 1982. It's an abstract show more heavily focused on music and dance than a traditional plotline....

KS Large Bore Pistons LLC kicked off its new 35,000 square-foot addition at 2945 Angwall Drive.

The expansion will allow the company to keep up with demand from its current customers while adding another customer from Europe. Doing so will save 38 jobs and add 24-30 jobs...
