Wisconsin Technology Council: From 25 communities statewide, 49 entries advance in 2023 Wisconsin Governor's Business Plan Contest

MADISON – Forty-nine entries from 25 different municipalities have advanced to the semi-final round of the 20th annual Wisconsin Governor’s Business Plan Contest, contest producers announced.

Contestants emerged in first-round competition involving an independent panel of about 70 judges organized through the Wisconsin Technology Council and its programs, the Tech Council Innovation Network and the Tech Council Investor Networks.

The semi-finalists are spread among four broad categories: advanced manufacturing (11), business services (13), information technology (15) and life sciences (10). Within those broad categories, plans range from green building materials to workforce solutions, and from medical innovation to software for security, management, education and more..

Sweet Jules Bakes officially opens shop in the Fox Valley

OSHKOSH – Residents and visitors to the Fox Valley will now have another option for baked goods as a new bakery held its grand opening on Thursday.

Sweet Jules Bakes, which specializes in scratch-baked goods, including gluten-free, vegan, and other specialties, opened its doors to the Oshkosh community.

Copper Cock Tavern opens in historic building and former barber shop

FOND DU LAC — The idea for Copper Cock Tavern all started in the 80s, when Vince Kuber found a property from 1873. At the time of the discovery, the property was a barbershop owned by a friend, on North Main Street in Fond du Lac.

“I had asked him for decades about purchasing the building. Of course, he didn't want to part with it,” Kuber said.
