SHEBOYGAN -- Sheboygan Mayor Ryan Sorenson gave the annual “State of the City” address at Monday night’s Common Council meeting. In his address, Sorenson outlined highlights and accomplishments of the past year, noting that despite strong challenges, the City has continued to “move forward due to strong leadership from our department heads and determination of our city staff.”, and the mayor asked for patience as the City “moves forward to take the appropriate steps to fulfill its mission” which, Sorenson said, consists of “providing residents, the business community and visitors with fiscally-responsible municipal services in an effective and responsible manner to meet the needs of our diverse community.”...

NBC 26 February is Black History Month, and a program in Appleton has been working for decades to help students. The organization called Appleton A Better Chance, or Appleton ABC, began in 1968. "We bring promising students, minority students from other places to go to high school here," said Sheri Fetting, board president of Appleton ABC.
