Big names in Wisconsin corporate world will meet with emerging companies at March 14 Tech Summit

Some of the most iconic corporate names in Wisconsin will engage one-on-one with emerging firms at the ninth annual Wisconsin Tech Summit, which will take place March 14 in-person at Lambeau Field.
Emerging companies may apply through Monday, Feb. 21 to meet with major firms and explore potential business relationships around technology needs and innovation.
More information, including the online application form, can be found at wistechsummit.com. Past emerging companies are encouraged to apply. Free guided tours of iconic Lambeau Field will be available later that day for registrants.

GREEN BAY -- The official barber for the Green Bay Packers says landing that job has been life changing, yet it wasn’t easy getting there for someone who grew up in the southside of Chicago.
“You can imagine, gun violence you know. Rapes...Drive-bys. You just name it. Anything that’s bad, we experienced that living in the projects in Chicago,” Hansel Canady told Action 2 News as he was cutting a customer’s hair.

Couple prepares to continue Uncle Tom's Candy tradition

DOOR COUNTY -- The same bark and brittles you have loved for years will be now be prepared and served by new owners.
Ryan Mueller and Rebecca Whipple bought the business from Heather and Jim Laughlin earlier this month. The couple moved to Ellison Bay from Milwaukee late last year after becoming interested in purchasing the business despite having full-time jobs outside of the food industry. They are not strangers to Door County with Mueller’s family having roots in the area since the 1920s and Whipple having spent time waiting tables at area restaurants. Under Laughlin’s guidance, Mueller and Whipple learned the recipes that have been produced under the Uncle Tom’s moniker since Uncle Tom himself opened the candy store decades ago. Mueller says he is excited to help continue the legacy of Uncle Tom’s Candy Store for years to come.....

GREEN BAY – If you are opening a fine art gallery in Green Bay, what better way to start than with a show connected to Brett Favre?
Dg Clearing opened his namesake "Dg Clearing, a fine art gallery"at 1270 Main St. on Tuesday with 23 paintings that were commissioned by the Pro Football Hall of Fame and former Green Bay Packers quarterback.
Clearing acquired the paintings, including a series commemorating Favre's (at the time) NFL record 421 touchdown passes, through a third-party seller. The series consists of portraits of the receivers who caught each 50th pass, such as Robert Brooks at 50, Edgar Bennett at 100, Antonio Freeman at 150 and so on. The pieces are 48 inches by 36 inches....

VIP Daiquiri Lounge, 308 Main Ave., opened in late August in the former Cleopatra's Hookah Bar space. Dean, the owner and former Milwaukee native, saw an opportunity to bring the city staple to the Green Bay area.
