DOOR COUNTY -- Seeing built homes leaving the Sturgeon Bay Industrial Park could be a part of your daily commute in the future. The Door County Economic Development Corporation is looking at acquiring the necessary grants to build a modular home manufacturing facility. The organization would partner with Northeast Wisconsin Technical College, the Door County Homebuilder’s Association, and participating school districts to build homes that would have a price point of between $99,000 and $159,000. BRILLION – A site plan for a coffee shop on Main Street in Brillion was approved by Brillion Plan Commission on Monday night. Brillion Works LLC has a design in place for a coffee shop and bakery to take the spot of the previous building that was demolished once they purchased it at 306 North Main Street. The new building will also include an apartment on the second story of the building. It will be just shy of 1,800-square feet.
Mark Olsen of Brillion Works answered a question what the building’s tax base would be, and he roughly estimated $900,000, but that is unofficial because the project is in the process of being put out for bid...

The problem was, the Rev. Ken DeGroot, a pastor at St. Willebrord Parish, couldn't understand their language. The two men had come from the train station, newly arrived from Mexico and looking for a Spanish-speaking priest. At the time, DeGroot was only one of those things.
But the encounter startled him. His friend from St. Norbert Abbey translated their needs over the phone that evening. DeGroot would learn the two men had been traveling far and wide in search of a church at which they could worship. Surely, DeGroot thought, St. Willebrord could be a home for them.
