Passenger traffic is up double digits at area airports
THE BUSINESS NEWS

NORTHEAST WISCONSIN – More people equals bigger planes.

That’s the case for both the Appleton International Airport (ATW) and Green Bay Austin Straubel International Airport (GRB), each of which is starting off 2023 on a high note. Director Abe Weber said ATW is already seeing 13% in seat growth just in the first quarter – which he said looks like only the beginning.

“Our legacy carriers – American, Delta and United – are adding more seats through the first quarter of 2023, compared to 2022,” he said. “It's quite a strong growth in seats we're going to see this first quarter. I think it's even going to be above that in the second quarter.”...

Habitat for Humanity Lakeside Marks 48th Home in Sheboygan
WHBL

SHEBOYGAN -- A Sheboygan family became homeowners last week after a long journey, lots of work – and help. The home is the 48th one made available by Habitat for Humanity Lakeside, a member of the global nonprofit housing organization that constructs, rehabs and preserves homes.

The Tin-Aye family received the keys to their South 9th Street home last Tuesday, but nothing was just “handed to them”; the family had to complete more than 500 “sweat equity” hours by working to build their home alongside their habitat co-workers after coming to the U.S. as refugees. They were looking for a safe place to call home, and now the family of five has just that…along with an affordable mortgage...
