MENASHA – EnTech Solutions, a clean-energy solutions provider, was recently recognized by RENEW Wisconsin and the Central States Water Environment Association (CSWEA) Wisconsin Section for its work on two renewable energy projects.

EnTech was honored as a RENEW Wisconsin 2022 Clean Energy Leader for the microgrid deployed at its renewable natural gas (RNG) digester facility in Middleton, Wisconsin. The distributed energy microgrid powers the on-site operations with energy generated by solar panels and stored in batteries. The waste-to-energy digester facility produces RNG, which is injected into the natural gas pipeline in Dane County and used in the transportation sector on the West Coast. RNG from dairy manure can reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by up to 400% when used to replace traditional vehicle fuels....

GRAND CHUTE -- The $30 million indoor sports center at 5000 W. Champion Drive is owned by Grand Chute and designed to drive hotel business through sports tourism, particularly on weekends in the winter.

Tournaments held at the facility last year generated 13,725 room nights and nearly $4.3 million in direct visitor spending at businesses in the Fox Cities.

Pam Seidl, executive director of the Fox Cities Convention & Visitors Bureau, said an even stronger performance is anticipated in 2023....

Bellin Health permanently opening walk-in orthopedic clinic in Marinette

MARINETTE – Residents in Marinette County will have another walk-in orthopedic clinic to benefit from after Bellin Health announced its plans to open one on Monday, February 13, permanently.

According to a release, the Marinette Orthopedics Walk-in Clinic will be open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and will be staffed by a licensed athletic trainer who can quickly assess injuries and make recommendations ranging from rest and stretching to a complete rehabilitation program.....

Pandemic-induced supply chain hurdles caused many of Wisconsin’s manufacturers to reevaluate where they are getting materials, and industry consultants expect that trend to continue.

Some companies already moved some of their supply chains back to North America, but future geopolitical pressures could force manufacturers to accelerate those plans.

Fond du Lac ready for this weekend's Sturgeon Spectacular

FOND DU LAC — Organizers of Fond du Lac’s Sturgeon Spectacular began planning for the three-day festival more than six months ago. Now, the final preparations are in place for Friday’s kickoff.

All of this weekend’s dozens of events focus on one thing: sturgeon.

“There's been a tradition of sturgeon spearing,” Pete Wilke, executive director of Fond du Lac Festivals said. “That community has been in Fond du Lac for decades, and been doing this for, I think, over a century out on Lake Winnebago. And we want to keep that tradition alive.”

But sturgeon spearing isn’t the only thing visitors can participate in this weekend.
