FREE Community Health Event at the Elisha D. Smith Public Library in Menasha
MULTICULTURAL CENTER 

A FREE Community Health Event will be held Feb. 16 from 3-6 p.m. at the Elisha D. Smith Public Library in Menasha. Also, From the Wisconsin Department of Health Services: Starting February 1, every Wisconsin household placing an order through the Say Yes! COVID Test program will receive two free COVID-19 self-testing kits, for a total of 10 tests per order. Orders can be placed on the Say Yes! COVID Test website once per calendar month. Ordering will reopen the 1st of every month for households who placed an order during previous months. All Wisconsin households are eligible to place an order through this program, including those without health insurance....

Fond du Lac utilizing grants to enhance downtown

FOND DU LAC — Fond du Lac is looking to make downtown more appealing for residents and visitors alike. The city council recently approved the city's grant application for the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation's "Vibrant Spaces" grant. This grant would give the city between $25,000 and $50,000 to develop a green space in the heart of downtown between the US Bank building and the library. City Manager Joe Moore said the city is planning to apply for the full $50,000, which the city will then match.

"We think that it will greatly enhance the vibrancy, but also the aesthetic of that area," Moore said...

GEAR UP Rising Phoenix expands to serve more students in Wisconsin
UW-GREEN BAY

GREEN BAY — After two years of program success, GEAR UP Rising Phoenix will expand to include additional schools that are part of the Wisconsin Educational Opportunity Program’s (WEOP) GEAR UP program. The first group of students that started in Fall 2021 are approaching high school graduation, many with a significant head start on their college careers as a result of the partnership between WEOP and UW-Green Bay. The application is now open for the new cohort which will start in Fall 2023.

In Fall 2023, students from Bayfield school district will join the 16 already-participating high schools in Ashland, Shawano, Wausau, Green Bay, Sheboygan and Milwaukee. Up to 100 additional students will join the current 114 students that are enrolled in the program....

The Herd, the NBA G-League affiliate of the Milwaukee Bucks, hosted a science, technology, engineering, art and math -- more commonly known as STEAM -- workshop at Perry Tipler Middle School Monday.
