St. Norbert college announces Black history month celebrations
ST. NORBERT COLLEGE

DE PERE -- St. Norbert College will celebrate Black History Month with a series of events that raise awareness of African American culture. The theme for this year’s celebration is Black health and wellness, designated by the Association for the Study of African American Life and History. Students, faculty, staff and community members are invited to celebrate African Americans’ gifts in scholarship, music and food.

Due to COVID-19, the college’s annual Soul Food Dinner has been canceled for this year. However, St. Norbert College will host a slate of other inclusive, accessible events and opportunities that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully....

APPLETON – If you’re a Fox Cities resident, you probably drive by C3 Corp. at 3300 Venture Dr. on a regular basis.

C3’s headquarters on the south side of Interstate 41 just west of State 441. Yet, many who drive past are unaware of C3’s status as a major cog in one of the world’s most bustling industries: mattress-making.

Founded in Appleton in 1994, C3 Corporation is an engineering firm and original equipment manufacturer. The company doesn’t manufacture beds themselves, but rather builds “the machinery and automation that go into the mattress assembly,” business development leader Mark Desjardin told The Post-Crescent....

Port of Green Bay ends shipping season with increase in shipments

GREEN BAY -- The 2021-22 shipping season for the Port of Green Bay has closed with an increase in cargo shipments from a year ago.

Port officials say nearly 2 million tons (1,971,592) of shipments came into and out of the port, a 3% increase from the previous year.

“Reaching nearly 2 million tons is a good sign for the Port and a nice reflection of the strong local and regional economy,” Port of Green Bay Director Dean Haen said in a news release...

More exhibits coming to the Door County Maritime Museum

STURGEON BAY -- New exhibits are coming soon to The Jim Kress Maritime Lighthouse Tower at the Door County Maritime Museum in Sturgeon Bay.

Inside a cramped ceiling space on the seventh floor, workers from Southern Custom Exhibits needed drill power Thursday morning to help get the job done.

Harrison's new village president Allison Blackmer will help the growing community to 'keep moving forward'
APPLETON POST-CRESCENT

HARRISON - Allison Blackmer was surprised to be appointed village president of Harrison during a meeting earlier this week.

"I had expressed interest in running for village president in 2023," she said. "It was kind of a surprise Tuesday night when they appointed me."

Blackmer is succeeding the previous village president Kevin Hietpas, who became village president in 2019 and resigned Dec. 21 due to family health concerns. Blackmer was appointed for the remainder of his term, which ends in 2023...
