FOX VALLEY -- Action 2 New has reported on the struggles of school districts surviving staffing shortages in the pandemic. On Thursday, the Green Bay Area Public School District moved Preble High school and Edison Middle School to virtual learning for at least three days because of critical staffing levels. Fox Valley Technical College has started a program to help fill the staffing gap.

Door County Board to discuss ARPA fund distribution Tuesday
DOOR COUNTY DAILY NEWS 

Addressing county issues like child care, workforce housing, broadband, groundwater testing, and invasive species are all on the table Tuesday as the Door County Board decides which projects are worth funding.

Through the American Rescue Plan Act, the county was allocated over $5.3 million as a way to recover lost state and local funds due to the pandemic. The county hosted a public information session about how to best use the funds on January 12th with the public echoing the need for many of the issues eligible for the ARPA funds. Nine different projects will be funded with the ARPA money, taking up approximately $4.3 million of the $5.3 million available...

Dana Farm Ice Skating Rink opens in Kewaunee County

KEWAUNEE – Anyone looking to do some skating in the Kewaunee County area can now bring their skates down to the Dana Farm Ice Skating Rink.

The Kewaunee County Promotions & Recreation Department announced that the Dana Farm Ice Skating Rink is now open. This will be its second season open.

The rink is located at N3787 Ransom Moore Lane in Kewaunee. The park is lighted and free to use, but visitors will have to bring their own skates...

Wisconsin’s FaBcap Accelerator program has expanded nationally and is now serving six times as many businesses across the U.S.

Instead of serving the usual group of 10 businesses, FaBcap will now assist 60 businesses in the food and beverage industries. Four cohorts of 15 will be grouped by specialty: two for food/beverage businesses, one for value-added agriculture, and one for processing/supporting technology businesses. The FaBcap Accelerator is offered in collaboration with the Food Finance Institute (FFI) and financed by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. (WEDC)...

Gov. Evers, DATCP Announce Investment in Statewide Meat Talent Development
STATE OF WISCONSIN 

MADISON — Gov. Tony Evers today, together with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP), announced up to $5 million in meat talent development assistance. This funding will be used to attract and provide financial support to students in Wisconsin meat processing training programs, as well as support program development and connect the meat processing industry with potential employees.

“The last several years have brought challenges to every sector of our agricultural economy, including meat processing,” said Gov. Evers. “This investment will reduce barriers to careers in meat processing, provide new opportunities to workers across our state, and ensure our food supply chain remains resilient and successful well into Wisconsin's future.”.

Hmong Women Society Accepting Scholarship Applications Through May 31
SHEBOYGAN SUN 

SHEBOYGAN – The Hmong Women Society is awarding five $1,000 scholarships to Hmong high school and college students who will be enrolled full-time for the Fall 2022 semester.

To be eligible, applicants must be a current high school senior or college/technical school student of Hmong ethnicity, a Wisconsin resident and a United States citizen, national or permanent resident.

Eligible applicants must also have a grade point average of 2.7 or higher on a 4.0 scale, and be enrolled as a full-time student at a college or technical school for the Fall 2022 semester....
