With $136 million federal contract, MilliporeSigma will build new Sheboygan Falls facility to help manufacture COVID tests

SHEBOYGAN - MilliporeSigma is building a new facility on its Sheboygan Falls campus to manufacture a component of COVID-19 rapid tests.
The expansion comes after the U.S. Department of Defense, in coordination with the Department of Health and Human Services, awarded MilliporeSigma a $136.7 million contract on Wednesday.
MilliporeSigma is part of the life science division of the German-based company Merck KGaA. The life science business operates manufacturing sites around the globe that make lab materials and technologies for scientists...

Increased efficiency and improved infrastructure highlight City of Sheboygan's 2022 Strategic Plan
SHEBOYGAN SUN SHEBOYGAN – The major theme of the City of Sheboygan’s 2022 Strategic Plan is to create a more efficient system for providing services, improving infrastructure and saving constituents money. The 2022 Strategic Plan is an extension of the 2017-21 plan, and includes community input from a Feb. 2021 survey in which 1,540 constituents outlined the issues most important to them. “We really needed to have the voice of our constituents. That’s what the strategic plan is all about,” said City Administrator Todd Wolf. The 2022 plan is especially critical because it will lay the groundwork for 2023 and beyond, according to Wolf. Community First Credit Union announces lending team promotions
COMMUNITY FIRST CREDIT UNION Community First Credit Union President-CEO Cathie Tierney and Chief Lending Officer Tim Hoff are pleased to announce the following promotions: Mike Vedder has been promoted to Vice President Senior Commercial Lender. A graduate of UW-Milwaukee, he worked as a bank credit analyst in Sheboygan for several years before joining Community First in 2007 as a senior credit analyst.
Mike was promoted to commercial lender in 2010, to assistant vice president of business services in 2014 and to vice president business services in 2016. Besides managing his commercial lending portfolio, he also supervises CFCU’s team of credit analysts.
Jeff Johnson, who joined Community First in 2012 as a credit analyst, has been promoted to Business Lender. A business administration graduate from St. Norbert College, Jeff had 16 years of prior banking experience, including 11 years as a commercial banking credit analyst and portfolio manager.
John Ryan has been promoted to Assistant Vice President of Consumer Lending. He had 10 years of banking experience prior to joining Community First in 2011 as a Member Service Representative. John was subsequently promoted to Assistant Branch Manager, Branch Manager and Regional Assistant Vice President of Branch Operations...

'So deep with talent': New Third Avenue Playworks director excited to work with Door County theater community
GREEN BAY PRESS GAZETTE STURGEON BAY -- He's worked in some of the theater capitals of the U.S., like Washington, D.C., Chicago and New York. Marinette student grows 14-pound cabbage, named Wisconsin's winner of national program

MARINETTE – A student from Park Elementary School in Marinette was the state’s winner of a national cabbage program after she grew a 14-pound(!) cabbage. Emma Christopherson of Park Elementary School was the Wisconsin winner of the Bonnie Plants 3rd Grade Cabbage Program after she grew a 14-pound cabbage.
The Bonnie Plants 3rd Grade Cabbage Program was relaunched in 2021 as a remote-friendly learning activity to bring education outdoors. The program started with each participating student getting sent a starter cabbage plant and the lessons needed to care for the plant...
