Subject: Register for NCS3 Trauma-Focused Intern Training Series

Dear Colleague,

The National Center for Safe Supportive Schools Trauma Learning Series is a 9-module video series designed for school-based clinical trainees who are seeking additional mental health training resources and tools. The training series offers two courses: (1) Foundations of Trauma-Informed School Mental Health and (2) Trauma-Informed School Approaches, Classroom, and Counseling Supports.


Enhanced by opportunities for self-reflection and strategizing, both courses incorporate interviews with educators, administrators, school counselors and clinical trainees, parents, and students.


Some additional course details include the following:


  • Critical concepts and skills for understanding trauma in schools and responding to children’s and teens’ trauma

  • Emphasis on cultural responsiveness, anti-racism, and equity

  • Focus on research-validated approaches

  • Led by expert faculty in K-12 school-based mental health

  • Designed for school-based trainees in social work, counseling, school psychology, and other mental health disciplines 


Course registrants will participate in 9.5 hours of easily digestible modules (10-30 minutes each) which can easily fit into trainees' busy schedules.
