Dear Colleague,

The Alliance for Inclusion and Prevention is proud to offer a FREE two-part course, Treating Trauma in Schools: Foundations and Practical Applications for Professional Practice, which focuses on treating trauma in youth populations.


Developed by Dr. Lisa Baron of the Alliance for Inclusion and Prevention and NCSMH’s own Dr. Tiffany Beason, the course is facilitated by school mental health and trauma experts across the country.

 

Part 1: Foundations

  • Gain foundational skills to support students affected by trauma.

  • Learn from experts in school-based mental health and trauma treatment.

  • Earn 8 Continuing Education Credits (CEUs)*. 


Part 2: Practical Applications

  • Explore evidence-based treatments for trauma in schools.

  • Explore treatment with special populations (LGBTQ+, military families, students with disabilities, and more).

  • Earn up to 12 CEUs*.

  • Flexible learning: complete one or all 11 sessions.

Participants can earn up to 20 CEUs and will also be invited to participate in a university study of the effectiveness of the course as it will aid in improving resources for practitioners.  

 

*FREE CEUs for social workers and for mental health counselors are available for those who complete one or both parts of the course. Confirm your eligibility with your licensing board to ensure credits are accepted for your state or license.
