Dear Colleague, Drs. Elizabeth Connors and Sharon Hoover, faculty leaders at the National Center for School Mental Health, recently co-authored Advancing Measurement-Based Care in School Mental Health as part of a series published by the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors (NASMHPD). More about the series... Advancing Crisis Care and Beyond: 10 Technical Assistance Papers to Foster Well-being and Promote Personal and Community Safety This series of 10 papers aims to build upon the work being done to implement the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and the behavioral health services continuum that complements it. These papers also advance the work of prevention, safety, resiliency, and recovery, which complements the work in crisis services. Beginning with the “umbrella paper” that covers leading policy themes related to each of the subsequent papers, these papers highlight key areas of consideration for advancing crisis care and crisis care follow-up. In addition, the papers put forth recommendations for specific strategies to foster well-being and promote personal and community safety. The papers will be published on the SAMHSA website as they become final. They include the following: Advancing Crisis Care: Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and the Crisis Service Continuum across the Lifespan A Safe Place for Help: Supporting Children and Youth and their Families with the Crisis Services Continuum Optimizing Medication Use and Pharmacy Resources in Crisis Services
