Join the 'We Are All DC' Rally Today!

Saturday, September 6

A Message from CASA:

Join CASA, AFL-CIO, SEIU, Free DC, UNITE HERE, UWDA, and many more alongside DC-based community groups, unions, nonprofits, and faith-based organizations on September 6, as we march together to end the takeover of the District of Columbia.

We are responding to the federal troops that proactively partner with the local DC police force, as well as national guards from other states, to harass, surveil, and detain Black and brown working-class residents, immigrants, and unhoused neighbors.

Participants, bring your best district or state pride fit, comfortable shoes, and unwavering spirit as we take back our streets.

  • For those in the Baltimore area, buses are available earlier in the morning of September 6, on a first-come, first-served basis, so RSVP to secure your seat. For more information, click HERE!

  • For those in the Metro MD area, people will begin gathering at the Fort Totten Metro Stop at 10 AM to ride into the city together. RSVP here!

Beloved Community Banquet, September 6

Join 'Stand Up Sunday' on September 7

The recent mass shooting at the Annunciation Catholic Church and School in South Minneapolis, which took the lives of young school children, reminds us of the vulnerability of worshippers in sacred spaces. It underscores the immediate, real-world consequences of unchecked religious hatred and violence. This moment demands more than words; it calls for resolve, unity, and action across faith traditions to ensure no place of worship or faith-based school is ever again a target.

Appeal of Conscience Foundation and the Foundation to Combat Antisemitism, founded by Robert Kraft in 2019, are bringing together an interfaith coalition of religious leaders and Houses of Worship to stand up against antisemitism and all faith-based hate at Stand Up Sunday on September 7, 2025.

Stand Up Sunday will include more than 1.5 million people of faith nationwide. Many of these houses of worship have experienced targeted acts of violence themselves and have a deep understanding of the impact it has.

Churches of the Catholic Archdiocese of New York, the Diocese of Brooklyn, the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, Armenian Diocese of America, Serbian Orthodox Diocese of Eastern America, National Council of Churches of Christ, and numerous Christian, African Methodist Episcopal, Episcopal, Presbyterian Churches as well as the Akshardham BAPS Swaminarayan Hindu Temple USA will be participating.

Stand Up Sunday is connected to the Appeal of Conscience Foundation’s Respect The Other campaign.

WCC Seeks Support for
Thursdays in Black

Help WCC extend the reach of Thursdays in Black.

First, PLEDGE to stop sexual and gender-based violence through advocacy, awareness-raising, and activism.

Each Thursday, wear black to demonstrate your commitment to end SGBV, and POST your selfie (or an advocacy note) to social media. And remember to PRAY for victims, survivors, and perpetrators for trauma transformation and healing from woundedness that results in victimizing others.

PREPARE your own Bible studies for online usage. Or share liturgies you’ve prepared for community events.

The work doesn’t stop on Thursdays; WCC aims to heighten awareness at every opportunity.

Visit the website for more information and resources. Share your ideas to PROMOTE the campaign with at nas@wcc-coe.org.
