Subject: Friend I write to you from Madinah!

They're striving for Sadaqah rewards here, and so can we

Assalamu Alaykum Friend

I wanted to take a little bit of time to write to you from Madinah, where I currently am.

It is an absolute honour to be in the city of our beloved Prophet again, may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him. I ask Allah to give all my brothers and sisters the chance to do this at this time of year at least once in their lives.

Friend I've witnessed some amazing things here already, even though I've only been here a few days. The generosity, kindness, love Muslims have for each other is difficult to articulate in words. It has also been emotional and humbling to see some of my Hajj and Umrah books stocked in shops in Madinah (see images below). All praise is to Allah that he allows us opportunities to serve him by helping His ummah.

The way some Muslims are striving for rewards here makes you want to strive to do more. There are some brothers and sisters from other countries who have set aside physical cash to give away to the poor and needy here every single day. They have little boxes in which every day's coins or notes are stored, ready to give out on their way to the mosque. May Allah reward them for embodying the spirit of Sadaqah.

I've been making dua for our entire community back home - that it is a successful Ramadan for us all. Including for the organisations doing the crucial work of charity to help others. As I mentioned the other day, people in our community are doing it really tough at the moment and it's our job to help them.

Our donors' support through our Daily Sadaqah feature in the last few years has been a big part of our success, Alhamdulillah. If you have not already, I encourage you to set up Daily Sadaqah to enable us to help the most needy in our own community. You can do so in 3 easy steps here: https://www.nzf.org.au/pay/

Just the way brothers and sisters in Madinah are taking the effort to give "Daily Sadaqah", I pray you too are rewarded for the intention of doing this consistent deed every day.

JazaakAllah Khair once again and always for your support. I'm including a few pictures from my stay in Madinah, after which I head for 'Umrah, insha Allah!

Your brother
