Subject: Zakat services integration - ICV + NZF

Announcing a more integrated Zakat Service for the Victorian Muslim Community

The National Zakat Foundation together with Islamic Council of Victoria (ICV) signed a ground-breaking agreement on Friday 16th February 2018, that aims to deliver a more efficient and integrated Zakat Service for the Victorian Muslim Community.

The cornerstone of the agreement is for all Zakat collected by the ICV to be distributed through the NZF Zakat Centres, thus leveraging the NZF Zakat distribution team, its processes and knowledge base, bringing considerable efficiencies to the ICV, enabling both organisations to more effectively serve our community.

Rolling the ICV Zakat Fund into the National Zakat Foundation fund, will grow our Community chest, enabling us to fund more services in Victoria and across the country.

NZF and ICV have been collaborating well before this agreement, in particular working closely with the  ICV’s Muslim Connect Program and funding their Released Offender Program.

What does this mean for the Victorian Muslim Community?
  • Any Zakat payments made through the ICV will flow onto NZF
  • All Zakat Payments over $2 qualify for a tax receipt (tax deduction)
  • Applications for assistance made to ICV will be handled by NZF
  • Your Zakat payment goes further in helping those in need in our community
We would like to thank ICV for putting their trust in NZF. May Allah SWT give us barakah in our work together, and help us continue to build a stronger community where no one in need is left abandoned.
