Subject: Why Am I So Sad the Day Before Eid? 😢

Assalamu 'alaykum! We hope you're squeezing the most out of these final nights of Ramadan.

Tonight is a weird night for most of us. Even though Eid is around the corner, we may be feeling sad. What a beautiful month has passed us, yet most of us feel we did not do the best we could have and there is a cloud of regret hanging over us.

Questions keep coming to mind. Are we happy with the way we prayed? The way we fasted? How we gave in charity? Did we make enough Dua? Read enough Qur'an? We don't know what the next year has in store for us; will we be here, or not?

The good news is: Ramadan is not over. We should use this opportunity and the last few moments we have to seek forgiveness and do whatever good deeds we can to finish off the month as strong as possible.

Ibn Al-Jawzi reminds us: "When the race horse knows that it is nearing the end of the track it exerts all of its effort to win the race. Do not allow the race horse to be more clever than you. For verily, deeds are judged by their conclusions. So if you didn't do well with welcoming Ramadan then perhaps you will do better bidding it farewell."

May Allah bless you and your families in this beautiful month.

Wasalam,
