Assalamu Alaykum,
Arafah comes only once a year and it is a time to increase in all aspects of worship. Alhamdulilah this year, Arafah falls on a Saturday so we should be able to clear out our day to focus on this opportunity!
Today, make sure you:
1. Fast the day Our days are so short that we don’t have much of an excuse not to fast! The opportunity for forgiveness is immense.
Abu Hafsah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported that the Prophet, upon whom be peace, said: "Fasting on the Day of 'Arafah absolves the sins for two years: the previous year and the coming year, and fasting on 'Ashura, (the tenth day of Muharram) atones for the sins of previous years.” Muslim 2. Make plenty of Dua It is said that Arafah is a time of acceptance of Dua - particularly in the hours between Asr and Maghrib. Start making note of these Duas as early as possible so that when Asr time hits you know exactly what to ask for. The Prophet upon whom be peace has told us of the best dua to make on Arafah: لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
3. Give Sadaqah generously Sadaqah is something that takes the least of our time but has a powerful impact. The rewards of Sadaqah are numerous and worthy of our attention. Make sure you give Sadaqah at some point today to truly reap the rewards of Arafah. And of course, we hope you can give via NZF to help us continue our critical work!
Wasalam,
