We have been humbled by this response and hope that the incredible momentum continues. People are increasingly coming to see how important giving Zakat to benefit local causes can be, and that is why we are seeing this great level of interest in our work, by the will of Allah.
A reminder that we are in the best 10 nights of the year. They are a time of exertion, worship, sacrifice, donation and working for all that is good.
A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said that “The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would exert his best (in worship) during the last ten days (of Ramadan) more than at other times.” [Muslim] Giving both Zakat and Sadaqah is more rewarded in these days. If you haven’t given your Zakat yet, pay it tonight! If you have, don’t miss out on the extra reward of giving extra Sadaqah. One of the emphasised actions in Ramadan is of charity and giving. It is the test of the Muslim’s belief in Allah as Al Razzaq (The Giver). Abu Hurairah (r.a.) reported Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) as saying: “Charity does not in any way decrease the wealth..” [Muslim]
