Subject: Weight loss mistakes ⚠️

Hi Friend,

Happy weekend! How is your weekend looking like? Is it a chilling weekend, a fun one, a crazy one, are you working, travelling or spending time with family or friends? 

My one has a mixture of relaxation, friends and fun.

Today I want to go through the main mistakes people make when trying to lose weight. 

Some of them my apply to you and some of them not...

...we are all in different paths.

Use them to guide you towards a healthier and sustainable lifestyle.

Weight loss mistakes

  • Restricting calories. Restricting calories will slowdown your metabolism, causing rebound weight gain. It will unbalance your hormones causing you to feel hungrier and binge if the restriction is prolonged over a period of time.
  • Restricting foods you like. Restricting the foods you like makes the diet very boring and difficult to stick too. You will crave the foods you can not eat and instead of eating them in a balance way you will overeat on those food when allowing yourself to have them.
  • Focusing only on weight loss. Focusing only on weight loss puts you in a negative mindset driven by body image that causes stress and unhappiness. Don't force your body, focus on health and wellbeing and the rest will by consequence.
  • Using the scale regularly. Going on the scale has a very negative mental effect. Weight can fluctuate easily from one day to another because of many reasons, specially for women with the different phases of the menstrual cycle. When you go on the scale expecting a certain number and you see a slight increase, it normally puts you down and makes you think your efforts are not worth it.
  • Too much exercise. Exercising excessively will cause stress on your body as well as mentally. This will raise cortisol levels which makes you store more fat. 
  • Not enough sleep. Sleep is a very important part to a healthy body and weight. Studies say that people who don't sleep enough eat an average of 400 calories more a day. During the sleep phase our body repairs muscles, tissues, organs and resets your hormones to normal levels, this is vital for am efficient metabolism during the day. 
  • Having the wrong mindset. Balance is everything, the mind is as important as the body. Don't forget to work on your mindset and your happines, don't forget to enjoy life... your image alone won't bring you happiness. Find the balance between body and mind, between being healthy and enjoying what you like and life. Stay sane!
There is no problem in wanting to have a healthier weight and feel more comfortable in your body. Just remember that dieting will not get you the results you are looking for.
