BATTLE OF SHANGHAI

One of the most famous of all war photographs ever taken was of this crying baby at the Shanghai Railway Station (September 1937) by H. S. Wong a/k/a Wong Hai-Sheng a/k/a Wang Xiaoting. The photo came to symbolize Japanese wartime atrocities. Below we present "Japan - 1946". A young boy stands in a Japanese city amid the rubble of the bombings. Note the shelter behind him used for protection from the bombings. We are drawn to this image because of Wong's Shanghai Railway scene as it symbolizes the destruction of war to all sides.
