How to Build a Million Dollar Medical Transportation Company
Saturday, May 11, 2024

Hello to everyone within the Million Dollar Transportation Community!  As
always, I hope that this message finds you all doing well and that
business is booming!

Janet Prentice has emailed me with the following great question:

Hello Joel,

Thank you for all of your helpful information.  We continue to enjoy your
emails and DVD's.  We have just about worn out your "Training DVD" as
we literally use it for training our drivers.

Joel, you continue to mention the industry changing and so we need to
modify our business model.  Can you expand on this - the changes that
are occurring?

Thank you again for all that you do,
Janet

Thank you for the great question, Janet!  I appreciate you taking the time
to write.  I share your questions because I suspect many others have the
same thoughts and concerns.

Let me begin to put things into perspective for you with the following facts:

1. The demand for NEMT transportation is only going to continue to
increase because of the growing elderly population - this fact is NOT
going to go away!

2. Even without Obamacare, half of the medical industry is currently paid
for by the government via Medicare and Medicaid

3. Ironically enough, Medicare and Medicaid are all going broke - belly up!

4. The government can't manage Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security and
the like, but somehow they think they will effectively manage Obamacare!
Well despite this dillusional thought process, hospitals, administrations
and insurance companies have long since been maneuvering and
preparing for the onset of Obamacare and the associated fallout - which
will effect you as a citizen and a business owner!

5. Brokers are on the move and continuously in competition with one
another competing for territory

6. Technology and advancements in healthcare are further contributing to
the changes in the way hosptials and facilities care for and interact with
patients

7. Many states and counties are experiencing increased deregulation
which can lead to both positive and negative influences for providers

Now, take all of these facts into consideration to include the increasing
demand yet a bankrupt government, put them in a bag, throw in some
transportation providers as crutons, sprinkle in some increased fuel
prices for additional flavor, some employee concerns, insurance issues
and the like and what do you get?  One heck of a tossed salad!!

Bottom line is this.  The way we as transportation providers have been
doing business for the past many years is no longer going to be
sustainable 2 and 3 years from now.  It's just not!  It's too one
dimensional.

It's essential that we create and employ an "Integrated Business Model"
that allows us to stay at the forefront of all of these many changing
variables.

For those of you that are just entering this industry, that's awesome!  In
learning the series of integrated strategies that I will be sharing with you,
you will know nothing different so you will be well adapted to our
changing environment and positioned to take advantage of profitable
opportunities.

But if you're one of those "old school" business owners, hardened in the
logic that you have all the answers and your way is always going to
work, well, as the old saying goes, pride comes before the fall!

Ultimately, change is here whether we like it or not or how inconvenient
it may be for some "old school" business owners.

So if you're ready to increase your education and maximize your
opportunities, then join my in San Jose at the end of this month.
Reservations will be closing soon as we need to finalize numbers and
arrangements with the Garden Hotel.
