Good morning, Everyone!
This is Dan. Hope you are all doing well.
We received quite a bit of emails, some even concerned, in response to Dawn's email from earlier in the week. I am reposting her message below it is an important message, and we all join in sharing her sentiments.
To answer many of your questions, yes, Joel and all of us welcome the opportunity to work with you if you are currently a broker-only business. It is not that we don't want to work with you, but what we frequently find is that by the time you reach out to us, a few things have happened.
1. You are already locked into one or more low hanging fruit agreements with low ROI, so you aren't able to negotiate increased rates.
2. Your low ROI has your margins so low, you aren't able to fund the necessary pivot to redirect your business.
3. Because of your financial obligations, you are forced to keep working the low ROI trips to keep cash flow coming in to pay your bills.
Essentially, you are trapped in a job of your own creation that is controlled by someone else!
To address another common question, there is no one-size-fits-all solution to your situation or anyone else. Why? Because no two businesses are the same!
This is why you hear Joel talk about us "Meeting you where you are at." Anyone trying to force you "into a system" and follow a standard methodology is crazy and selling you a scam. Turn and run as fast as you can.
Although the fundamental of transporting seniors in wheelchairs and stretchers is universally common, the differences in rules, regulations, credentialing, and protocols from state to state and sometimes county to county could not be more different.
In California, LA County is the absolute worst to deal with. In Florida, Broward County rules and regs is completely different from Miami-Dade. In Georgia, they recently overhauled their entire Medicaid system from what used to be 5 regions operated by multiple brokers. In New York, MAS is probably one of the oppressive, highly regulated, and underpaying brokers ever.
The list goes on and on.
What makes the entire industry so crazy is that, as we all know, demand is increasing everywhere, but if you are listening to and relying on these brokers to operate and build your business for you, you are going to go broke!
Can you use brokers? Yes, if it is profitable work. I trust you have heard Joel talk about this many, many times. The work has to be profitable and the rules and regulations must be reasonable and practical versus overbearing and oppressive.
With all of that being said, feel free to re-read Dawn's previous message. Likewise, we welcome the opportunity to answer your questions and work with you, but again, please know there is no one-size-fits-all solution to your situation regardless of what anyone says.
Some of you need help with starting. Some need help with contracts. Some need help with negotiations. Some need help with lawsuits. Some need help with buying or selling.
Again, the list goes on and on.
No two businesses, even in the same area, are the same. That is why before you start work with us we will send you a detailed questionnaire. We use that to learn more about you, your start point, and your current position.
I hope this answers some of your many questions, but feel free to contact us with further questions.
Thank you. Best wishes,
