Subject: Spiritual Practice for High Performers

Friend,

High performing people often try to rule their emotions. I know. I did it for years.

When you are looking to excel further in your life, it’s easy to get caught in the energy of doing, and suppress the emotions you are experiencing, because you just don’t have time to deal with them.

But if you don’t address those pressing emotions, you can become stressed, fatigued, depressed or physically ill.

So, what do you do to find balance?

  • How do you keep your head above water when you are feeling emotionally overwhelmed or fragile?

  • How do you find peace and tranquility in the midst of a busy life?

  • How do you sustain the energy you need to continue creating?
For some of us, spiritual practice needs to be practical—something we can realistically do as part of each day.

When I was doing stage acting, I learned something very valuable from a model as she was teaching me how to change into my next costume quickly.

I had a very fast change from one costume to the next. I was frantic and anxious, near tears as I tried to rip off my garment.

Wisely, she took my hands in hers, looked into my eyes and, with a calm and steady voice, told me to slow down.

What I discovered was that the more I slowed down, the more I was able to focus. The better I focused, the more quickly I was able to accomplish my goal.
Within a few short minutes, one costume was off and the next costume was on.

This simple concept—in order to speed up, you have to slow down—eventually became one of my most effective spiritual tools for both healing and awakening.

When Ana Paula Munoz invited me to participate in her interview series, Spiritual Practice for High Performers, I knew I wanted share some ideas about practical spirituality, like the example above.

If you are wondering about how to incorporate more space for your emotions and more spiritual practice into your high performance life, check out her series, and our interview here:

Holding you in my heart and songs,
Program of the Month
Sound is the healing modality of the future, available to us right now.

Misa has taught hundreds of healers, parents, musicians, and awakening people how to use vocal sounds for healing for nearly 30 years.

One healing practitioner commented she had studied with several sound healing instructors, but it was Misa’s teachings that actually got results.

This month, her Sound Healing audio course is the special of the month.

From a student taking the audio course:

I sat back on my chair and experimented with the sound healing. After a good night of sleep, [my lower back pain] was gone...

Sound Healing Session of the Month
Inflammation is the painful side effect of many different health conditions.

After Misa created her recorded Sound Healing Session for Inflammation, she was surprised to learn her sounds not only supported decreased inflammation, but for some people helped in healing the condition behind it.

I listened to the (sound) healing every day and within 10 days there was no more pain from inflammation in my leg and it was less stiff…It is now 2 months and the inflammation has not returned. —MR, Colorado
