Last week we talked about knowing what you want. This week, we explore receiving it.
Have you ever been clear about what you wanted, but seemed to be unable to receive it?
Most of us have been there.
My ancestors taught me the reason we have difficulty receiving is because we did not feel fully received when we were born.

|
For those of you working through the 10 Emotional Needs of the Soul, you know this to be the second emotional need that longs to be fulfilled while we are on Earth.
In addition to energetically repatterning and recreating those early years (as we do in the 10 Emotional Needs course), there is another way to expand your receptive energy.
It’s autumn here in the Northern Hemisphere, and the season provides the perfect reminder for one of spiritual steps to take in order to further your ability to receive.

If you have chosen a path of consciousness, this step will be required for you, though others around you may never be called to do this most sacred work.
Before I tell you what this step is, it is important to know that our common association with it is not what it is about in secular thinking. It is NOT about giving up.
This step invites you to open to something wonderful and far beyond what you might be able to imagine for yourself at this time.
In this step you relinquish control to Divine imagination.

This is the step of surrender—spiritually opening to experiences of love far beyond what you can currently imagine in your mind and heart.
|
|
Personally, once I’ve surrendered my will to Divine will, and after I’ve worked through my ego’s resistances, I feel a burden lift. I’m a pure open vessel for Divine love and imagination.
Then, when I feel clear, I pray in this manner. It varies a little each day and goes something like this:
This is what I would like to receive beloved Divine. And I am willing to open to a greater vision than I am currently able to hold for myself. I am willing to receive as good as this or better, in alignment with Divine love and consciousness.
I do this for myself, my love ones, my clients, and in imagining a better world.
Perhaps you have a similar practice or would like to experience this one.

Surrender is time-honored across spiritual traditions for good reason. The more we get out of the way, the more Divine grace can pulse through us.
|
|
|
|
If you are taking the 10 Emotional Needs of the Soul with me, you are already discovering the power of repatterning and recreating your relationship to receiving at the time of your birth.
And we can all expand our capacity to receive in the practice of surrendering to Divine imagination.
