We are going to go deep into the wonder of the Mystery this month, as we discover our unique paths of inner wisdom for healing and awakening.

I was Catholic from the time I was a baby. Whenever there was something I needed, there was a prescribed way of asking God (Him) for what I wanted.
When I didn’t see results, I was simply told it must not be right for me.
After what seemed a life-time of praying with no results, I was fit to be tied. I even wondered if there was a He out there that actually cared about me, but I persevered.

Like many of us have experienced, the lack of results forces one to let go and begin looking inward for Divine wisdom.
|
|
|
In my late 20’s, as I designed a sexual education class for the kids in my parish, I started really listening to the prayers and the teachings I found myself wanting or NOT want to share with the kids.
For example, there were scriptures that shamed women or deemed women to be untouchable during their menses. That was certainly not what I wanted to teach our young people.
The teachings of the church were so male and hierarchal, I was losing my sense of self and relationship to the Divine, so much so, that I finally stopped teaching, and stepped outside of the church.
I needed to find a place in which I could be understood as a spiritual woman. I needed to discover my own unique relationship with the Divine.

About the time, I decided I needed to go out on my own, I found out I had a syndrome in which I was producing as much testosterone as a teenage boy (a story many of you have heard).
My whole world was far more male than female, and it was literally killing me. I was struggling to know who I was as a spiritual woman, healing in today’s world.
I had to step into the unknown, and the quiet urgings of my heart in order to find my healing path and a spiritual practice that took me into true direct experience of the Divine and my own awakening.
It was only after I innocently opened my heart to the unknown, that the Divine began revealing its mysteries to me.

The willingness to step into the unknown is required for true spiritual awakening to occur and inner guidance to emerge.
|
|
|
My story is certainly not the only one of its kind. Perhaps you have a similar story.
