| Happy April Friend,
Jeffrey and I are spending time with family this weekend, celebrating his mother’s 90th(!) birthday.
Like all families, they’ve had some rough moments together. And like most families, they’ve had some wonderful times.
As his mother comes toward the close of her life, I can feel the dedication within her and her kids to live in peace and appreciation of each other.
Listening to them talk and share stories, each of them brings perspective of their earlier years, understanding how naïve they were at earlier stages of their lives.
Isn’t that how it is for all of us? If we look back honestly, our interactions were based on the knowledge and perspectives we had at that time.

Hopefully, as we grow older our perspectives expand and our compassion widens.
|
|
Certainly, bringing compassion into our present moment is a powerful healing balm.
I have also discovered that when the wounds of our past are deep and painful, we can also travel back in time and recreate our childhood.
If you are wondering, “Why not just recreate life from where we are now?
Surely, sometimes that is possible.
|
|
But sometimes the child spirit within is just hurting too much, and it is actually easier to reach into our past than into our present.
|
|
The good news is that time is a construct, and when it comes to healing, whatever place we can most easily access—past, present or future—is the place to bring our healing touch.
If the inner child is having a difficult time, it’s important to get her/him some help, because your destiny is tied to your inner child.
We’ll talk more about this in the weeks to come. Please join me in attending to our beautiful inner child spirits this month.
